The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a national nonprofit organization focused on substantially increasing the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers.

AISES supports 230 affiliated pre-college schools, 196 chartered college and university chapters, 3 tribal chapters, and 18 professional chapters in the U.S. and Canada. AISES highlights the geographic, economic and social aspects of STEM education and careers. We engage and advocate through scholarships, internships, and other diverse programming. In building the Native American STEM Workforce, AISES provides K-12 students, parents, and educators exposure to quality curriculum, programs, and opportunities to interest and engage these audiences in STEM. To increase access and success in STEM higher education, AISES provides financial and academic support and opportunities to Native college students to increase the number of successful Native STEM majors. AISES provides leadership and promotes change to improve professional opportunities in STEM through the Professional of the Year program, research support, networking, and opportunities to mentor and support Native students in STEM. AISES engages in strategic partnerships and research in STEM through data collection, career services, and partnerships with other key STEM stakeholders. Two key signature events are the annual AISES National Conference and Leadership Summit where students and professionals meet to connect with STEM professionals and industry leaders for mentorship, career opportunities, and to help Native STEM students and professional grow and succeed in their chosen career fields.
