Essential for researching peer organizations, benchmarking, and identifying potential funders. New Mexico nonprofits should claim and update their own Candid profile to improve visibility with grantmakers.

One of the largest fiscal sponsorship organizations in the United States, serving individual artists and unincorporated arts projects. Through Fractured Atlas, artists can receive tax-deductible donations and apply for grants that require 501(c)(3) status without forming their own nonprofit. Annual membership fee; a small percentage of funds raised goes to Fractured Atlas. Available to artists and arts groups anywhere in the U.S., including New Mexico.

Albuquerque-based organization offering workshops, trainings, and technical assistance designed to build the capacity of New Mexico nonprofits and community organizations. Topics include grant writing for beginners, board governance, strategic planning, financial management, communications, and leadership development. Many workshops are free or low-cost.

The official portal for applying to New Mexico Arts grants, including the operating support, project, community arts, folk arts, and arts education grant programs. Organizations must create an account and complete an eligibility profile before applying. Guidelines are typically posted in September with a December deadline for most programs.

SCORE New Mexico offers free, confidential mentoring from experienced business professionals and volunteers. Arts organizations, individual artists, and creative businesses can work with mentors on business planning, financial management, marketing, fundraising strategy, and more. Mentoring available in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and virtually statewide.

The Learning Hub is an educational program of the Santa Fe Community Foundation offering workshops, webinars, learning circles, and peer support for nonprofit board members, executive directors, and staff. Programming covers leadership, fundraising, board development, financial management, grant writing, and strategic planning. Designed especially for small and rural nonprofits in northern New Mexico.

Nationally recognized training organization offering in-person and online workshops on grant proposal writing, including programs held periodically in New Mexico. Courses cover the TGCI Model for writing competitive grant proposals to government agencies and foundations. Workshops typically run five days and are aimed at experienced nonprofit staff. Scholarships sometimes available.

WESST provides free, confidential one-on-one business consulting and low-cost training to self-employed artists, craftspeople, and creative entrepreneurs across New Mexico. Topics include business planning, pricing, marketing, financial management, and access to capital. WESST has offices in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Farmington, Gallup, Las Cruces, and Roswell.
