IRS Form 1023: Apply for 501(c)(3) Status

The federal application for tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. Smaller organizations with projected annual gross receipts under $50,000 for the first three years may qualify for the streamlined Form 1023-EZ. Both forms are filed electronically through Pay.gov. New Mexico nonprofits must obtain state incorporation before applying.
