To further the education and interest of children with disabilities and their families, children in poverty and underserved women.
We sponsor a weekend camp for children with disabilities and their families. Occupational therapists and other teachers and therapist sponsor a child and their family. At the camp the parents attend a seminar on learning disabilities, sensory integration issues. The children and their siblings spend the day with their therapist and other children participating in a variety of activities.
I also mentor an occupational therapist in a service learning project involving Carolyn's Causes. This is in conjunction with the occupational therapist school at UNM.
