About This Role
516 Arts, a nonprofit contemporary art space in downtown Albuquerque, seeks a Gallery Manager to oversee day-to-day gallery operations, visitor experience, and exhibition logistics. The Gallery Manager works closely with the Executive Director and curatorial staff to ensure smooth installation, deinstallation, and presentation of exhibitions.
Responsibilities include managing gallery hours and front-desk operations, coordinating with artists and fabricators during installation, maintaining inventory of artworks and equipment, handling sales and consignment paperwork, managing volunteers, and supporting public programming. The ideal candidate brings a background in visual arts or gallery work, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to 516 Arts' mission of presenting challenging and community-engaged contemporary art.
